Marilyn M. Ross

With more than 25 years of experience in business and human resources, Marilyn has a unique understanding of business strategy, organizational development and change management, leadership, management and talent identification. She is experienced in assessment and recruiting, learning and development, diversity, executive coaching, and multi cultural strategies. Marilyn has applied these skills effectively in a variety of business settings, both domestic and international. Industries include financial services, publishing, entertainment and retail manufacturing. Combine these skills with her academic foundation in organizational development, change management and education and you have a professional who can bring a unique and strategic perspective to any business.

As a human resources consultant and executive coach, Marilyn brings experience working with executives at all levels of business. Her skills enable her to work on both strategic as well as tactical business opportunities and her creativity and innovation allows her to suggest new and different ways to approach solution. Working with leaders and groups at all levels of the organization has provided her opportunities to work at the organization, team and individual levels. Her leadership enables her to successfully work with leaders, teams and individuals quickly demonstrating her ability to build trust, confidence and partnership in reaching human business solutions.

Marilyn has extensive experience in recommending and collaborating in areas involving business unit reorganization and implementation, business performance solutions, change, business process reengineering and off shoring, mergers and acquisitions, leadership development, talent identification, assessment and recruitment and training including curriculum and instructional design. In addition, she is very effective at team facilitation, diversity and multi cultural orientation, executive coaching, career transition counselor and in designing innovative solutions to solve business opportunities.

Her consulting practice is strongly buffeted by her background in business and human resources which included Vice President Senior Learning and Development Strategist, Dean of the Finance College, Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Wachovia Corporation NA, Owner, Alexandre Productions Inc., Vice President, Human Resources Executive Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A.; Director, Affirmative Action American Broadcasting Companies (Disney), N.A.; Personnel Director, Gimbels East. Her hands on business experience include supporting corporate divisions such as Corporate Finance (as well as enterprise wide Finance), Internal Audit, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Operations and Technology and Retail sales.

Marilyn has a Masters degree in Organizational Development and Change Management from Fielding Graduate University and an undergraduate degree from College of Mount Saint Vincent, Education. She is a member of Codnet, a professional organizational development society, American Society in Training and Development (ASTD). She is certified in Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP); Workplace Big 5, and Center for Creative Leadership’s Benchmark Leadership Assessments.

Marilyn has traveled extensively for business including Europe, Asia, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Her interests include American Musical Theatre, classical music, the arts, creative writing and physical fitness.

She is a board member and prior secretary of the Arc of Mecklenburg County heads their fund raising effort. She is a marketing committee member of the McColl School of Visual Arts and serves on several church committees.

In a past life Marilyn has been an artist, worked on off Broadway musicals, she wrote and edited creative novels for publication, and facilitated training in the Andes’ Mountains. She dreams of one day working with people in Africa and the Philippines.
